Obesity is Endemic in New Zealand

Many scientists in the fields of anthropology and bioscience indicate that we have perfected the environment for addiction and addictive behaviours. Overeating is considered to be an addictive behaviour that has harmfully developed and continually evolved. Regrettably we are contributing to the development of a variety of serious ill-health conditions that can carry high mortality rates and have poor prognoses that can cost individuals, families and society millions of dollars every year. The media continually advertise for junk foods and encourage children from early ages to consume unhealthy food. The lack of exercise and the vast availability of fast food restaurants have largely contributed to the development of obesity.  It is time we did something about this endemic disaster. This website highlights a brief description of obesity and related health concerns and the various options available to treat and prevent it.
