Assignment Two

June 14, 2010

Last year (2009) I attended the Australasian Conference on Obesity which was held on the 4th of December at the University of Auckland, Symonds Street, Auckland. They claimed that obesity was an endemic social problem. Specialized physicians and surgeons, experts and professionals from Australia and New Zealand explored the various aspects of obesity in terms of definition, epidemiology, aetiology, treatment and prevention. For assignment two, I thought I could utilize ning.com to share some of the aspects with you to increase your awareness of this scary endemic.
Description:
We attempted to be introducing our prior knowledge of what obesity is and why people get fat. Questions were posted regularly and participants were asked to post responses and concerns. Discussions took place and evidence based answers were provided.

Tools:
Participants were asked to visit the Discussion Board and to respond to others' comments and questions. A number of questions were posted and participants encouraged posting questions and concerns.
Synchronous chat sessions and blogs were provided.

• To be familiar with the therapeutic approaches
